Fluorescent Eye Staining: This diagnostic procedure is used to detect abnormalities or injuries on the surface of the eye, particularly the cornea. During the test, a special dye (fluorescein) is applied to the eye, which highlights areas of damage or dryness. When examined under a blue light, areas of the cornea that are damaged will fluoresce, allowing doctors to identify scratches, foreign bodies, infections, or other corneal issues that may require treatment.

Culture Tests: Culture tests are laboratory procedures used to identify infections in various parts of the body, such as the throat, urine, or skin. A sample of the affected area (such as a throat swab, urine sample, or skin scraping) is collected and cultured in a laboratory to encourage the growth of any bacteria, fungi, or viruses present. This helps diagnose specific infections and determine the most effective treatment, such as antibiotics or antifungal medications.

Drug Screening: Drug screening is a test designed to detect the presence of drugs or alcohol in the body. These tests can be performed using various methods, such as urine, blood, saliva, or hair samples. Drug screening is commonly used in employment settings, sports, and medical environments to monitor for substance abuse or to detect the use of illicit drugs, prescription medications, or alcohol. The results help guide treatment or enforcement decisions.

Skin Tests: Skin tests are used to detect allergies, sensitivities, or the presence of certain diseases like tuberculosis (TB). In allergy testing, small amounts of allergens are introduced into the skin (usually through a small prick or injection) to observe if an allergic reaction occurs. For TB testing, a small amount of a substance is injected under the skin, and the site is checked for a reaction, indicating exposure to the tuberculosis bacteria. Skin tests are a valuable tool in diagnosing various conditions and guiding treatment plans.
